Señor Rio Tequila racks up another Win!
We know you don’t need us to tell you what month it is. October is one of the great months of the year, and it’s easy to see why. Sports are in full swing, there’s college football, professional football, the MLB playoffs, and the NBA and NHL are starting their seasons! Even if you’re a horse racing fan, there’s fall races going on in Kentucky! Needless to say, if you’re interested in seeing the best competition, October is the month for you. Well, we’ve got another team that just racked up another big Win, your favorite tequila Señor Rio! That’s right, Señor Rio’s 3 expressions of tequila and our cafe elegancia all won gold and silver medals in the Beverage Testing Institutes 2022 competition! Without further ado, let’s dive in on how your favorite tequila and your favorite expression brought home these medals!
It’s one thing to win, it’s another to repeat!
By now you’ve heard us humble brag on our Señor Rio products many times. After all, what kind of tequila company would we be if we didn’t remind our fans and first time triers about the awards we’ve won in the past. Well, like all the greats, it’s never enough just to win once, we want to keep it up! Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, these guys are never satisfied with just one win, they want to keep the ball rolling! We at Señor Rio are no different. Lets face it, the competition in the tequila industry is fierce right now. Every day there are newcomers to the field, the market is growing like crazy, and even celebrities are throwing their names and weight behind certain brands. So whenever you can run, and win, with the big dogs like these, it’s worth celebrating! So let’s take a look at our expressions and how each of them did.
In no particular order….
Oh what the heck, let’s just go down the line!
- Cafe Elegancia. Score: 88 points and the silver medal. This sweet, but not too sweet little thing received praise for its “sleek, complex, medium-length finish that exhibits nuances of sweet vanilla, caramelized agave syrup, coffee, honey, molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla.” Need we say more??
- Blanco. Score: 90 points and the gold medal. As we like to say, double distilled and tequila in its purest format, however here’s what the judges had to say “a warming, intriguing, long finish displaying nuances of balsamic glazed grilled peach, hazelnut paste, custard, and green pepper.”
- Reposado. Score: 89 points and the silver medal. Just one point away from the gold, here’s how the judges describe Debbie’s favorite expression. “A satiny, dryish medium-to-full body and a tingling, engaging, medium length finish that exhibits shades of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond and pecan studded sugar cookie, cardamom, and shishito pepper.
- Añejo. Score: 91 points and the gold medal. The top selling expression, and when you hear what the judges have to say, you’ll know why. “…medium body and a tingling, refreshing, medium-length finish that shows notes of red apple, honey roasted pistachio, sautéed sweet pepper, and honey roasted sesame candy.”
